Many German towns are connected to others around the world through town twinning. However, one large city in Baden-Württemberg stands out because it does not yet have an official twin town.

Most of the larger German cities maintain partnerships with municipalities at home and abroad. An outstanding example in Baden-Württemberg is the state capital Stuttgart, which has no fewer than ten twin cities on four continents. However, there is only one major German city that can also be found in Baden-Württemberg but does not have an official twin city. The city nevertheless maintains strong relationships with other cities in Europe.
