In our country, it is a custom to eat them on the 29th of each month, for a long time in search of good fortune, but it is also a classic to put money under the plate at mealtimes. Why is this done?

Tradition says that they are made on the 29th of every month and their purpose is to bring a lot of money into the pocket. Italians have “gnocchi della fortuna”, which translated into Spanish means “fortune gnocchi” or “lucky gnocchi”. This food is a favorite of many people around the world and a classic pasta dish in Argentina.

And La Plata is not far behind in this tradition. The Italian immigrants who built this city more than 130 years ago left the custom of eating delicious pasta well established… and, of course, some good gnocchi every month.
