On the 2nd episode of JTBC’s ‘Thirty, Nine’, Jung Chan-young (Jeon Mi-do), who was sentenced to death, wrote a bucket list for Cha Mi-jo (Son Ye-jin) and Jang Joo-hee (Kim Ji-hyun).
Mi-jo Cha and Joo-hee Jang, worried regarding Chan-young Jeong, went to Chan-young Jeong’s house. The two released the so-called ‘Frenzy Deadline Program’, which they had been thinking regarding in advance. Jang Joo-hee was booed for banal lists such as ‘Take wedding photos’ and ‘Travel memories with parents’.
Jeong Chan-young said, “I mean. I have a dream in my life. ‘Make Joo-hee a boyfriend,’ let’s find Mi-jo’s real mother,” she said, revealing a bucket list for her friends rather than herself. “Hey, what does that have to do with you? Do you waste your time doing futile work?” she humbly asks. But Chanyoung Jung said, “It’s my wish. i’m archer Seriously. It’s my wish,” she said firmly.
The next day, Chan-Young Jeong visited her parents’ restaurant with Mi-Jo Cha. Chan-young Jeong, who failed to tell her parents that she had stage 4 pancreatic cancer, can’t hold back her crying on the way back. He told Cha Mizo, “I’m afraid to die. My mother has one more child for her, and she says, “If I die, who will bury her?” she cries. Cha Mi-jo, watching this, comforts Jeong Chan-young by saying, “I will do it.”
Meanwhile, Kim Seon-woo (Yeon Woo-jin) finds out that her younger sister Kim So-won (Ahn So-hee) worked in a room salon and that her father has said bad things to her, and is frustrated that she has not become a reliable older brother.
In the end, Kim Seon-woo got sick, and when he mightn’t be contacted, Cha Mi-jo went to his house and comforted him by telling his story. Cha Mi-jo said, “I was dispatched twice. He said he was cold without a word. I remember. I remember barely speaking. When I first went to my house, I hardly spoke for over a month. I’m anxious. Do you know why I only like Rachmaninoff Concerto No. 2? I woke up from a nap and music was playing as my mom was folding her laundry. She started talking to her as she folded the laundry together. I can safely live here for a long time. It was cozy for the first time. It may be that Seonwoo was thinking that he was not a reliable older brother.”
Kim Seon-woo, who was comforted, asked, “If I meet So-won next time, can I introduce myself once more, as my brother’s girlfriend?” Mijo smiled and nodded. And soon following, the two kissed and confirmed their feelings.
The next day, Kim Seon-woo promoted a meeting between Kim So-won and Cha Mi-jo. But he happened to run into the father of his brother and sister. Kim So-won might not hide her anxiety, and Mi-jo, who recalled her own childhood, held her Kim So-won’s hand and gave her strength.
Meanwhile, ‘Thirty, Nine’ is a real human romance drama that deals with the deep story of friendship, love, and life of three friends who are regarding to turn 40.
