Affected by the coronavirus pandemic, the hotel school Les Roches in Bluche, near Crans-Montana (VS), will lay off 33 employees out of the 185 that the institution has. The proposals of the personnel commission have made it possible to reduce the scope of the restructuring, while around fifty layoffs had been mentioned in early June.
Part-time and early retirement solutions have been put in place. Certain tasks have also been grouped together in the same position in order to make the structure of the company more efficient, detailed Tuesday the director of the school, Carlos Díez de la Lastra, on the airwaves of Rhône FM.

For seven other employees, “internal” solutions might be found. In total, 40 people are affected by the savings plan. With the pandemic, the hotel school has lost regarding a quarter of its students. The Chinese market was particularly affected. The war in Ukraine also had an impact, as did the strong franc.
