Third Test: Pakistan’s sudden comeback shocks Australia

Pakistan vs Australia Third against Test Scored 313 runs on the first day with the help of half-centuries from Mohammad Rizwan, Agha Salman and Amir Jamal.

Rizwan played an innings of 88 runs off 103 balls, while Aamir Jamal, who came in to play at number nine, scored 82 runs off 97 balls and Salman Ali Agha scored 53 runs off 67 balls.

David Warner, playing in his 112th and final Test match, scored six runs for Australia in the last over before the first day of the match ended.

Australian captain Pat Cummins took five wickets for 61 runs. He has dismissed five players for the third time in a row in this series.

Australia’s day that started on a happy note ended in disappointment as Pakistan’s last five players tried to save their side after a poor start.

Mohammad Rizwan and Agha Salman put on a brilliant partnership of 94 runs to take on the Australian bowlers.

Rizwan, who was dropped in the first Test, hit two sixes and 10 fours off 103 balls after which he was caught out by Josh Hazlewood off Pat Cummins.

He made the highest individual score for Pakistan in the series.

Salman Ali Agha scored a half-century after which he was caught out by Travis Head off Mitchell Starc.

Amir Jamal scored his highest Test score before being caught out by Mitchell Starc off Nathan Lyon.

David Warner then bowled the last over of the day for Australia and got off to a good start by hitting spinner Sajid Khan’s first ball for a boundary.

The morning session went well for Australia as opener Abdullah Shafiq and debutant Saeem Ayub were dismissed for no runs in two overs.

The out-of-form Abdullah Shafiq was dismissed on the second ball of Mitchell Starc’s opening over and Saim Ayub, who replaced Imam-ul-Haq on his Test debut, faced just two balls and was caught by Alex Carey off Hazlewood.

Babar Azam hit three brilliant cover drives before being dismissed for 26 runs.

Saud Shakeel was caught by Pete Cummins to Alex Carey and thus four Pakistan players returned to the pavilion with a total score of 47.

Just after lunch, Steve Smith caught skipper Shaun Masood for an individual score of 32 off Mitchell Marsh but it was adjudged a no-ball.

Shan Masood once again caught Steve Smith off Mitchell Marsh’s individual score of 35 and thus Pakistan had to bear the loss of five players for 96 runs.

Australia has already won two matches in the three-Test series.
