Martinez’s assistant on and off since 2016, Henry has had two mixed experiences as head coach at Monaco and Impact Montreal, it would be a first for him as an assistant on the bench of a professional club.
Roberto Martinez is in the sights of Everton who would have even approached the Belgian Football Federation. The 48-year-old Spanish technician, who has already spent three seasons at Everton between 2013 and 2016, would be the preference of Liverpool club leaders to take over from Rafael Benitez who was dismissed on Sunday. The Toffees have made an offer for the Red Devils coach, and the latter would like to bring his assistant Thierry Henry with him to the banks of the Mersey if he were to return to the Premier League, according to The Athletic.
Belgium would, however, prefer that the coach and his staff devote themselves solely to the Red Devils with a view to the 2022 World Cup which will take place at the end of the year.
