Nedunkandam (Idukki) – The police have ruled the case of murder in the case of a burglar who was found dead in the yard of a nearby house during a burglary attempt in Chemmannar near Udumbanchola. Senapati Vattapara native Joseph was found dead yesterday. The post-mortem report stated that the bones in Joseph’s neck were broken and entered the trachea, causing difficulty in breathing. The Udumbanchola police informed that the suspect is under surveillance and will be arrested today.
The police informed that the murder was done by strangulation of Joseph’s neck. District Police Chief R. Karuppuswamy formed an investigation team comprising Udumpanchola SHO Philip Sam and Nedunkandam SHO B.S. Binu.
The incident took place between 4 and 5 am on Tuesday. The incidents started during an attempted robbery at the house of Konnakkaparambil Rajendran, an autorickshaw driver in Chemmannar. After breaking the back door of the house, Joseph entered the room where Rajendran was sleeping and tried to open the cupboard. Rajendran woke up on hearing the sound and Joseph rushed out. Rajendran says that Joseph passed away following biting him. Joseph’s body was handed over to his relatives.
