A thief was arrested on Saturday after trying to use the bank card he had stolen from a merchant… in his own store in Coo, we learned from the Liège prosecutor’s office.
An individual took advantage of the fact that a shopkeeper was unloading his car on Friday evening in Coo, in the Liège entity of Stavelot, to steal a wallet which was in the vehicle.
The alleged thief showed up at a local store on Saturday, unaware that it was his victim’s business.
When the man tried to use the stolen bank card, the merchant alerted the police who quickly arrested the suspect.
The individual born in 2000 is illegally residing in the kingdom. He lives in Belgium and Luxembourg.
The person concerned was deprived of liberty and should be referred to the Liège public prosecutor’s office on Sunday.
