Thick clouds of smoke can be seen: fire in the Lenzing factory

Shortly after 8:30 a.m., the alarm was received by the company fire department and the Lenzing, Reibersdorf, Vöcklabruck, Timelkam, Schörfling and Badstuben fire departments. Fire broke out on the Lenzing AG factory premises.

High clouds of smoke rose above the company building. The fire is believed to have started in the area of the tower. Shortly after eleven o’clock, Daniel Winkelmeier, press spokesman for Lenzing AG, told the OÖN that the fire was under control, but that there were still a few embers.

According to the latest information, one person suffered minor smoke inhalation. She was taken to a hospital, but was already able to leave. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
