– More than 7 thousand motorcyclists from various cities will participate in a caravan to deliver toys.

TIJUANA.- The Tijuana Tourism and Conventions Committee (Cotuco) announced the realization of the traditional motorcycle caravan, Solo Ángeles “Toy Run”, for next Sunday, December 18, in which toys will be given to children of Tijuana.

At a press conference, Lic. Arturo Gutiérrez Sánchez, president of Cotuco, highlighted that this event has become a tradition in the city, since it has been carried out for 37 years by members of the Solo Ángeles Club.

“Philanthropic tourism is of vital importance, since in addition to directly benefiting vulnerable communities, it also leaves an economic benefit for the city, which is why the Tijuana Tourism and Conventions Committee will always support this type of event,” he said. .

For his part, Hafid Hernández Montañez, organizing member of Club Solo Ángeles, indicated that this is the 37th edition of the “Toy Run”, in which it is expected to deliver around 14,000 toys to the children of Tijuana.

He said that more than 7,000 bikers or motorcyclists will gather in this caravan, coming from the United States, Canada and Alaska, who will meet in San Diego, and then cross the border and start a journey from Otay to Avenida Revolución.

He even mentioned that motorcyclists from Argentina, Chile, Germany and England have attended.

He commented that the event will take place in this iconic avenue of the city, between 3rd and 7th streets, where three platforms will be placed with the toys that will be distributed through the delivery of tickets to the attendees.

“It is important to mention that it is not necessary to bring the children to line up from 4 in the morning, since the idea is that everyone takes a toy,” he said, while calling on all those independent motorcyclists and other clubs to join in with an unwrapped, non-war toy.

Hafid Hernández stressed that the so-called Caravan of Happiness will depart from the Solo Ángeles Club located on Nine Street in the Independencia neighborhood, to arrive at Avenida Revolución between 10:00 and 10:30 in the morning, to start the delivery of gifts to children from 0 to 12 years of age.

Finally, he invited the Tijuana community to be part of this traditional Christmas event that will take place from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, this Sunday, December 12, on Avenida Revolución, where the corresponding sanitary protocols will be applied.

Also present at the conference were members of the Solo Ángeles Club and representatives of the Toy Run organizing committee, Érick Morales, David González, Gabriel González, and Felipe Escobedo.
