They will deepen labor modernization to take advantage of technological advances and investment grade

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Minister of Labor, Mónica Recalde, presented the advances in labor modernization achieved during her first year of management and announced that in 2025 reforms will be intensified to take advantage of the technological revolution and promote investment for the benefit of citizen well-being. It was during a discussion with the human resources managers of the Paraguayan Association of Human Resources.

During the event held on Thursday, the minister reported that, through Decree No. 1989 of June 27, administrative burdens related to worker-employer formalization and labor communications were reduced. In addition, the EmpleaPy portal has optimized labor intermediation. The labor inspection and oversight process has also been modernized to ensure greater transparency and efficiency in the protection of labor rights.

Regarding the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its impact on the labor market, Minister Recalde announced that the modernization of labor regulations and processes will be deepened to place Paraguay at the forefront of technological transformation and attract new investments.

“Our goal is to ensure that the country’s good macroeconomic environment, better working conditions and increased private investment translate into an improvement in the quality of life of citizens,” he said.

The discussion was attended by the Vice Ministers of Labor, César Segovia, and of Employment, Verónica López, as well as the General Director of Inspection, Anahí Carballo, and the Director of the Employer-Employee Registry, Héctor Legal.

Segovia stressed that the Administrative Authority for Labor has led 55 tripartite meetings to resolve collective conflicts in the public and private sectors, thus avoiding strikes and multimillion-dollar losses for institutions, companies and the country during the last 12 months.

The Mtess also managed to increase by 60% the efficiency in the resolution of individual conflicts between workers and employers. Between January and June of this year, workers received G. 3,048 million through mediation, compared to G. 1,903 million in the previous semester.

Finally, the Deputy Minister of Employment pointed out that the implementation of technology and the professionalization of the public employment service not only improved labor intermediation, but also formalized the process of hiring new workers.
