Asunción, IP Agency.- This Friday, April 26, a series of activities will be carried out to raise awareness regarding the importance of preventing workplace accidents in industrial environments, in commemoration of the International Day of Safety and Health at Work.
The day will begin at 8:00 at the Guaraní Frigorífico plant, located in Limpio (Luque-Limpio Route). On site, specialists from the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security (Mtess), and the company will offer an informative talk on health and safety measures at work.
Subsequently, evacuation drills, demonstrations of handling ammonia leaks, firefighting techniques, first aid actions, transfer of the injured and basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) using automatic external defibrillators (AED) will be carried out.
At 11:00, at the Angostura – Caiasa Agroindustrial Complex plant, located in Villeta, a height rescue drill will be carried out, in addition to first aid practices and procedures for transferring the injured.
Transportation for media
The Mtess will provide transportation for media interested in covering the events. The departure is scheduled at 7:00, from the institution’s headquarters in Herrera and Paraguarí, Asunción, and the return to the same place, once the activities are finished. The opportunity will be conducive to recognizing the work of press workers, since it coincides with the commemoration of Journalist’s Day in the country.
