The apprehended citizens have police records for illicit possession of firearms and generic theft.
Officials from the Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigations Corps (Cicpc) arrested two subjects who were engaged in theft of farms on the road between Ciudad Bolívar and Puerto Ordaz.
The citizens were identified as NJHM, 29 years old; and KJPM, 21; who have police records for generic theft and illicit possession of firearms, respectively.
The duo operated in the estates and farms located in the Mata Rica sector, at kilometer 62 of the road from Ciudad Bolívar to Puerto Ordaz, in the Panapana parish of the Angostura del Orinoco municipality.
Presumably, the armed men threatened the inhabitants of the sector with death and gagged them to deprive them of valuables.
If they resisted the robbery, the criminals physically assaulted them and then escaped carrying valuables and bovine animals, which they then marketed.
The youths were captured in a wooded area located at kilometer 60 of said highway.
A commission from the Ciudad Bolívar Municipal Delegation seized a 16-gauge shotgun and a pistol.
They also collected two cell phones, two calves and a heifer, which were owned by one of the victims.
The case was left to the order of the Fourth Prosecutor of the Public Ministry of Bolívar state.
