They went for recently released from FGE cells in attack on former prosecutor

Juarez City.- Former prosecutor Sully Ponce Prieto, who was executed tonight, had just obtained the release of a detainee from the facilities of the State Prosecutor’s Office in the Northern Zone, who was the target of the attack, according to versions of personnel from the State Agency for Research (AEI).

The first data that has been revealed at the scene indicates that the lawyer was accompanied by a man who had just been released from the FGE cells, who was carrying two armed men as escorts in another vehicle.

A group of gunmen aboard four vehicles attacked them and there were shots in response from the two men who were in charge of protecting the target of the attack, whose name was not revealed by the authorities.

The result of the confrontation was the execution of the former prosecutor, who was left behind the wheel of her car, one of the lifeless escorts between the Vialetones of the Juarez Bus transportation system on Paseo Triunfo de la República and Del Charro Avenue, in addition to the other escort seriously injured.

Police are looking for another man, who was the one the gunmen were supposedly following, AEI police said.
