They warn about illegal marketing of a product for the treatment of diabetes

Asunción, IP Agency.- The National Directorate of Health Surveillance (Dinavisa) reports that the product called “Dr Dia+” is illegally marketed and promoted through various online platforms, as a treatment for diabetes, without being registered or approved by the institution.

In this sense, Dinavisa recommends refraining from purchasing and using this product, because its real composition and the sanitary and hygienic conditions under which it was manufactured are unknown. It also points out that it is illegitimate within the national territory because it does not have a Health Registry, and therefore its production, distribution, advertising and marketing are prohibited.

It also warns that it is advertised on web pages that clarify that it is not available in pharmacies and various therapeutic properties are attributed to it, such as stabilization of carbohydrate assimilation and blood sugar levels; increased insulin sensitivity; normalization of metabolism, improvement of the immune system and increase in energy levels, which do not have scientific evidence.

He adds that the advertising of the product presents it as natural and safe, without side effects and without the presence of chemicals, which is false and misleading information that puts the health of consumers at risk.

According to Law No. 1119/97 “On Health Products and Others”, in its article 4, paragraph 4, it establishes that the sale of counterfeit, expired, unauthorized or illegally introduced products is expressly prohibited.

The marketing of medicines is subject to health authorization through a Health Registry, in order to guarantee the safety and quality of the products for the benefit of citizens in general, Dinavisa reports.
