Business once more started talking regarding the improvement of Shamora, one of the most popular city beaches. But this time it’s not just regarding demolishing some pavilions and arranging others, as in past year. The project from the ARZIZ company proposes to build a hotel and recreation area on a plot of 8.7 hectares, including a hotel and apartments with a total of 1260 rooms, a water park, a spa center, swimming pools, sports grounds, jogging tracks and a clean beach. In addition, they promise to organize 700 parking spaces on the territory of the new complex and plant trees and shrubs on 2.5 hectares of land.
We are talking regarding the area around the so-called first beach, on the site of which there is now a recreation town “Pearl” with 1-2-storey houses. Designers presented in their place a real resort with open-air pools, buildings up to 20 floors high and numerous transitions between them.
“The concept is to create a year-round recreational and tourist complex that forms a comfortable, well-maintained environment that can cover a wide range of needs for recreation, health improvement and entertainment,” explained Alexey Okhotnikov, chief architect of the ARZIZ architectural and development company.
It is noteworthy that the entire plot is leased to the Lots company, whose founders include three names: Lyudmila (65.5 percent of the shares) and Maria (25 percent) of the Sleptsovs and Natalia Barbachkova (9 percent). Lots has been filling Shamora since the late nineties. Including, for example, he owns the Azure supermarket and the Zhemchuzhny recreation town.
Apparently, it is Lots that plans to turn Shamora into a year-round resort. True, they started with the simplest – from a small hotel on the site of a former store. In 2018, Lots registered a subsidiary, Lazur (director Olga Kalmakova). And this year, the “daughter” completed and opened on June 21 on Shamor the first three-star hotel “Star of the Sea”. It was at the opening of the hotel that the guests were shown the project of the future resort. They also took a tour of the built hotel.
The five-story building housed fifty rooms. The cost of living in them varies from 5.5 to 16.5 thousand rubles per night, depending on the season, comfort level and other factors. The rooms are furnished in a modern “cruise” style – blue and white textiles in combination with light wood furniture resemble the deck of a pleasure yacht. According to Lyudmila Sleptsova, CEO of Lots LLC, the company managed to conclude contracts with China for the supply of interior items and building materials even before the pandemic.
The status of a resident of the free port – Vladivostok customs without paying customs duties helped to save significantly issued 244 tons of foreign goods for the construction of a hotel with a statistical value of 526 thousand US dollars. These are mainly building and finishing materials, as well as elevators, electric generators, finishing ceramic plates, lighting equipment, plumbing. The hotel was not built on the first line of the beach, so the windows of even the most expensive junior suite overlook the roofs of a wooden recreation town and a supermarket. The hotel does not have its own dedicated beach or pool, guests will have to use public services. The spa complex on the first floor is not working yet, they promise to open it only in the fall.
Businessmen assure that they will not stop at one hotel – they will continue to implement the presented project. All possible assistance in its implementation was promised to provide city and regional authorities. True, while no one names the exact construction time.
In the meantime, the area around the beach is dotted with motley buildings of recreation centers and catering establishments, with all their appearance saying that they arose to obtain momentary benefits, without regard to the “development of the tourist potential of the region.” Nevertheless, Lazurnaya Bay does not lose its popularity with both local residents and visitors every year – in the hot season, there is nowhere for an apple to fall on its wide sandy shore. True, the season does not last long, and without year-round hotels with their warm pools and spas, there is literally nothing to do here in winter.
