They try to kidnap a 14-year-old girl in the Bronx
This Friday NYPD reported that it is looking for the individual tried to kidnap a 14 year old girlwhile she was walking in the vicinity of Lawton and Milton avenues, in the Bronx.
Through a statement, NYPD requested the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the person who on February 1, at 5:45 p.m., approached the girl in a white van.
“The individual got out of the vehicle, gesturing and comments towards the victim while trying to lure her into the truck,” says NYPD.
Surprise for the attempted kidnapping
Jonathan Inoa from Noticas 41 went to the neighborhood where the events took place, and the residents were surprised, considering that area “safe.”
There is also concern among young women in the sector. Beattríz Cárdenas, a young resident of the areasaid: “I am not a minor, but just like a fear enters because if it can happen to a girl it can also happen to one, and I also have my cousins.”
Search for suspect who tried to kidnap girl
The victim escaped from the scene and the man fled in the truck in an unknown direction, but immediately called the police and said that it is a man and is believed to be in his 30s.
The vehicle is described as a large white box truck, with unknown lettering on the driver’s side door.

How to prevent a kidnapping on the street
The New York Division of Criminal Justice Services gives these tips for people of all ages to avoid kidnapping:
– To be alert an older child or adult who pays an unusual amount of attention to your children (or yourself) or gives them inappropriate or expensive gifts. – Teach your children that no one should go near them or touch them in a way that makes them feel uncomfortable. – If someone does, they should inform their parents or the authorities immediately. – Teach them to move away quickly if a situation seems to be wrong. – Teach your children to trust their own feelings and reassure them that they have the right to say “NO” to what they feel is wrong. – Listen carefully your children’s fears and support them in all their conversations with them.
