At least 30 prisoners of a police station of the Buenos Aires party of Moreno They remained mutinous this followingnoon and held a police officer from said section hostage. It is a claim for better accommodation conditions and the request for transfer to other units, according to sources from the force and the courts.
The fact is started minutes before 5:00 p.m. at the Moreno 4th police station. of Cuartel V, located in Colectora Hipólito Yrigoyen y Gutemberg, in the western zone of Greater Buenos Aires.
In a video sent to the relatives of the inmates, and published by the website Semanarioactualidad.com.ar, the hostage policeman assured that “everything was fine” and that they did “nothing” to him.
Meanwhile, in another video published by the same zonal portal, the prisoners showed the overcrowded situation in a cell with capacity for nine people.
“We want to show how prisoners live in an inhuman way. At the moment, we don’t have water, they don’t give us food catering and when they do, it’s rotten. We are 30 interns in a cell for nine people. We have kids sleeping in Paraguayan hammocks. People also sleep in the patio,” claimed one of the leaders who organized the revolt.
“In the bathroom we do not have a drop of water to sanitize ourselves the detainee insisted while filming his crowded cellmates with a cell phone. We haven’t had water for four days, every two by three they bring us a small bucket to throw in the toilet, but we also have to bathe. If any relative can help us so that the Human Rights come to give us an explanation ”he added.
The prosecutor Carina Saucedo, in charge of the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 2 of the Judicial Department of Moreno-General Rodríguez, who tonight was supervising the negotiations that were going well.
Judicial sources also indicated that the Attorney General of that jurisdiction had warned of the problem of overpopulation and last Tuesday “the Ministry of Justice and the Buenos Aires Ministry of Security were asked to obtain more places for Moreno.” The response given by the authorities was that they were dealing with the issue, which they would give priority to.
