In an operation carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Department of the Neuquén Police, two brothers, aged 67 and 51, were notified by the Federal Justice due to their alleged violation of Law 23,737, related to the trafficking and possession of narcotics.
The police action, on Friday, November 10, resulted in the seizure of cocaine, marijuana, cash and a firearm in the Belgrano neighborhood of the city of Neuquén.
The investigation, originated as a result of complaints received through the “Neuquén Te Cuida” APP and with the authorization of the Federal Court headed by Gustavo Villanueva, made it possible to confirm the veracity of the information received.
This investigative work led to the identification of a 67-year-old woman and her 51-year-old brother, who, according to investigations, were dedicated to the sale of prohibited substances from an apartment complex in the aforementioned neighborhood.
In coordination with the Federal Prosecutor’s Office No. 1 in charge of Mariana Querejeta, raids were ordered that were carried out by the personnel of the Neuquén Anti-Narcotics Department.
During these proceedings, which lasted approximately three hours, the following were seized: 146.76 grams of unfractionated cocaine hydrochloride; the sum of $1,327,900 (one million three hundred twenty-seven thousand nine hundred Argentine pesos); 11.7 grams of cannabis sativa; three precision digital scales, three cell phones, a 32 caliber revolver with seven cartridges of the same caliber and a 14 gauge shotgun cartridge.
Both people involved, identified as presumed responsible, were found in the raided homes and were notified by the justice system of their indictment in a Federal case.
“This operation represented a significant step in the fight once morest drug trafficking in the region, carried out thanks to the cooperation between police and judicial authorities,” highlighted the provincial security force.
