The Paraguayan authorities revealed this week a link between the crew of the Venezuelan-Iranian plane that is being held in Argentina and the criminal organization responsible for the murder of Paraguayan prosecutor Marcelo Pecci on May 10 in Colombia.
The Emtrasur plane was in Ciudad del Este, on the triple border between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil, between May 13 and 16, for the supposed transfer of a shipment of cigarettes. During those days, the crew members of the Emtrasur plane met with members of criminal organizations, which would be linked to the murder of prosecutor Pecci.
This was revealed by the Paraguayan Anti-Corruption Minister, René Fernández, during an appearance before the Senate Investigation Commission,
During their stay in Ciudad del Este, the crew members were in contact with the Uruguayan Federico Ezequiel Santoro Vasallo -accused of human trafficking-, who would have been in charge of the transfer and lodging of the crew.
Santoro Vasallo is accused of being an operator of the criminal organization dedicated to drug trafficking and money laundering headed by Sebastián Marset Cabrera, with whom he would have close ties, and who is accused of being the intellectual author of the assassination of prosecutor Pecci.
