Los New York Mets would have been frustrated in negotiations with Puerto Rican Carlos Correa and they would be regarding to abandon them according to recent reports from people close to the Big Apple team.
According to journalist Andy Martino from SNY, although the situation with Correa is not completely over, there is some concern regarding the complexity of the agreement, so much so that The directive has studied giving up the signature attempt.
The main reason for the tie between the former Houston Astros and the metropolitan board, according to the same reports, is that there would be problems in the routine medical examinations of the Puerto Rican.
Apparently, this would also have been the key so that the agreement with the San Francisco Giants for 13 years and $350 million dollars did not come to pass either..
At the moment, the negotiation of 12 years and $315 million dollars that the Mets offered Correa last December is still on the table, but it is not ruled out that a new contract is created or that both parties reject the deal.
According to the New York Post, Correa’s situation with the Mets has made him evaluate other options, including two teams that would be interested in taking over his services, one of them being the Minnesota Twins.
