Hermosillo, Sonora.- After two weeks of work, this Tuesday the rehabilitation of two internal medicine rooms affected by a fire at the Institute of Security and Social Services of the Workers of the State of Sonora (Isssteson) Doctor Chavez was completed.
The affected rooms were renovated with a rehabilitation of different components of the gas and electricity supply.

Jesús Manuel Acuña Méndez, general director of Isssteson, reported that the place where the fire started is one of the oldest areas of the hospital, so that at the time when the gas lines were installed there were no inspection standards and they were glued to the electricity ones, behind the wall.
“Over the years, the oxygen lines wore out and when someone connected something, the short circuit occurred, which generated flashes, fire came out of the wall. So practically as I announced two weeks ago it was a providential warning, ”he explained.
The state official considered that there are now better facilities, since the renovation of the technical and medical team was relentless.

“If I had had this entire damaged area, well, in practically two weeks it was resolved,” he said.
Acuña Méndez warned that when they received the institute there were Civil Protection protocols, however, they did not have information on hospital reviews or notifications of irregular connections.
“The most recent plans that the Institute has date from the administration of Félix Valdés, I gave the instruction that a thorough review begin from this,” he said.
-Announcement-
Javier Ortiz Palma, director of the ‘Chávez’ Hospital, explained that the specialties served in the affected area of internal medicine are cardiology, endocrinology, neurology, among others.
“It is a place with a large capacity of patients that is important for the hospital,” he mentioned.
Jesús Manuel Acuña emphasized that the renovated area is a critical part, so, from there they began with a mapping, both of the electrical route, of infrastructure, of oxygen and of more medicinal gases, to continue intervening and modifying any element that might represent a risk of mishap.
“Above all we have problems with the old age of the infrastructure, there are people who are offended, because we say that the place is old, but all the rights holders know it well, because they are the ones who suffer from it, and we have the problem of leaks, there will be parts where we will have to remove parts of the roof and rebuild them,” he said.
The director of the Isssteson maintained that they ruled out other short circuits, but they continue to make all the revisions to make preventive adjustments.
