The municipal Executive of Jesús María sent to the Deliberative Council a request to rectify the 2023 Budget in $1,300 million pesos due to the inflation of the current year. This is 23 percent more than the money that was planned at the beginning of 2023.
The head of the Jesús María Treasury, Adolfo Gros, indicated that this decision was made as a result of inflationary pressure, which implied that the expected expenditures were increased.
The official said that when they put together the Budget at the end of November of last year, the forecast inflation was 70 percent, which was exceeded. Added to this are salary updates, which are indexed month by month.
“We see ourselves in the obligation, in order to continue working, to rectify that Budget, increase it,” he pointed out in statements published by Noticias Jesús María this week.

The current Budget is 5,600 million pesos and will rise to almost 6,900 million.
“We understand that with this rectification what we achieved is to be able to maintain all the normal activity that we have today, comply with the commitments with suppliers as well as with employees,” the official wielded.

Regarding the level of delinquency, Gros maintained that it is within normal parameters, although work is being done with the attorney to put pressure on taxpayers who owe rates.
