When attending as a special guest at the inauguration of the 43rd Gastronomic Exhibition of Santiago de Anaya, the head of the Executive Branch in Hidalgo, emphasized that this type of meetings contribute to the preservation of the most deeply rooted traditions in the entity, which at the same time, They generate identity, a sense of belonging, as well as the possibility of increasing the state’s tourism offering.
In her message, she recognized the impetus of the participants: “Each cook who has brought the best of her gastronomic repertoire today is a winner. A very difficult job for the judges since they take into account items such as time, ingredients, originality, within everything that involves preserving pre-Hispanic elements,” she stated.
On behalf of the participants, the traditional cook Luisa Anaya Pérez, recalled that the gastronomic tradition of this municipality has been transmitted from generation to generation, achieving international recognition; Therefore, she urged people to continue participating in this type of meetings to keep alive this knowledge and knowledge representative of the Mezquital Valley.
During his message, the mayor of Santiago de Anaya explained that this exhibition represents the most important gastronomic event in the country, as it has managed to bring together more than 1,300 chefs, who integrate their seasoning and ancestral knowledge into each dish.
“This event takes place the first weekend of April each year, and each year it grows as we bring together more chefs; I recognize the work of cooks like Mrs. Luisa, who upholds the name of Santiago de Anaya,” she highlighted.
Finally, a tour was carried out through the halls of the exhibition, where the protagonists were the exotic flavors offered by the flora and fauna of this region, and which invite those who enjoy new experiences to enjoy a culinary adventure.
