The Federation of Automotive Passenger Transport Entrepreneurs announced that in the coming weeks more than 1,400 new recharge points for the TIN card will be added, which replaces cash payment on buses in the interurban system of the province of Córdoba.
The information emerged following criticism and complaints from users arose following the first week of implementation. The main inconvenience noted was obtaining the card for the first time and then physically recharging it.
The TIN card can be obtained at 190 ticket offices of the participating companies in the different terminals of the province. And you can also recharge at those sites, although you can also use the Mercado Pago virtual wallet.
As reported by Fetap, from where the company TIN Tecno originated, which manages the new means of payment, an average of 13,200 charges are made daily at the ticket offices and an average of 3,200 virtual charges.
At that point, they highlighted that more charging points will be added next week. “The agreement is being closed with the Rapipago network so that the card can be loaded at the 650 points it has throughout the provincial territory,” said the president of Fetap, Esteban Riveros.
In addition, progress is being made with another agreement with Red Link so that recharging can also be carried out at ATMs that operate under that system. That’s another 800 points.
Riveros also anticipated that they are working with a Córdoba firm that produces automatic recharging devices, which will be placed in bus terminals to decongest ticket offices. These devices will also dispense tickets.
Finally, the head of Fetap indicated that negotiations are advanced with the banks Macro and Bancor so that debit cards can be used to pay for trips.
According to official data, 51 thousand daily uses of the TIN card are recorded in the interurban system, and there are more than 200 thousand cards issued. Additionally, charges average $1,700 and the average fare is $500, indicating use primarily in the metropolitan area.
It must be remembered that the system replaces cash payment in the units. Infrequent users will be able to continue purchasing tickets at the terminal ticket offices with physical money, or through ticket sales platforms.
Regarding another of the complaints regarding the impossibility of paying in cash, despite the fact that it had been reported that there would be a “flexible” attitude towards the user, Fetap assured that communication with the drivers was reinforced with the aim that, if If there is any inconvenience, the money must be received.
How the card works
The TIN card is available at the ticket offices of intercity transport companies that are members of the system. Until September 30, it can be purchased with a minimum charge of $1,000, which is available for the purchase of tickets. Starting August 1, it will have an issuance cost of $800.
There, the DNI and personal information are requested to personalize it. There are already more than 190 points of sale throughout the province of Córdoba.
To use the card, it must be preloaded with money. The recharge can be done with any means of payment, through applications, virtual recharge or ticket offices. In addition, it provides the possibility of covering a negative balance of up to $600.
When boarding the bus, you must tell the driver what your destination is. The driver loads the information, the user brings the card to the validator, the amount of the fare is debited and a ticket.
Each card has a QR code printed on it, which when scanned allows you to know the current balance and the latest movements. It also leads to electronic recharging systems.
If the user loses the card, they can recover their balance by going to any of the participating ticket offices, with their document and purchasing a new card.
