They present an agenda to celebrate the founding anniversary of Pilar

Asunción, IP Agency.- The celebration of the 245 years of the city of Pilar, on October 12, is used by its authorities to promote the capital of Ñeembucú as a tourist destination. The date coincides with the festival of the city’s patron saint, Virgen del Pilar.

The mayor Fernando Ramírez, the parish priest Luigi Arofo, of the Basilica Nuestra Señora del Pilar, announced the program of activities that will take place from next October 2.

The festival will have the support of the Yacyretá Binational Entity (EBY), taking into account that it is an event that seeks to promote tourism and the cultural identity of the city.

Eduardo Bado, EBY’s Social Communication advisor, participated in the presentation and explained that this is the second year that the institution has supported these activities and with very good results from the point of view of visitor influx during the festive dates.

Pilar, was founded by Pedro Mello of Portugal, on October 12, 1779, and projects a promising future with the large infrastructure works being developed in the city in view, highlights the Binacional report.
