Congressmen from various benches supported on Wednesday the presentation of a motion to interpellate the Minister of Energy and Mines, Eduardo Gonzalez, to answer for the appointment of Daniel salaverry as the owner of the Board of Directors of Perupetro.
RPP News acceded to the motion signed by 23 legislators from the benches of Advance Country, Popular Force and the Purple Party, in which it is indicated that it is in the public interest to know all the acts in relation to the appointment of Daniel Salaverry in Perupetro, as well as the criteria applied in said appointment.
“It is agreed to question the Minister of Energy and Mines, Eduardo Eugenio González Toro, in order for him to attend the Congress of the Republic and account for the legality of the appointment of Mr. Daniel Enrique Salaverry Villa in the position of Chairman of the Board of Perupetro SA ”, the motion reads.
The interpellation document has 10 questions to the head of the Ministry of Energy and Mines in which he is questioned regarding the suitability of Daniel salaverry to occupy the position.
Minister appeared before commission
Last Sunday, the legislator Diego Bazan (Avanza País) announced that it would present the motion for Minister González to explain regarding the appointment of Daniel Salaverry. Now he described as “vergozonso” the role of the head of that sector before the Energy and Mines Commission, for which he considered it necessary that the “irregular appointment” be explained before the plenary session.
During his presentation to said working group, the minister indicated that he had already sent all the information regarding the appointment of Daniel salaverry to Comptroller General of the Republic and that he did not want to advance an opinion on the matter. The members of the commission criticized his position of not responding.
In addition, he noted that if you have made a mistake with the appointment of the Chairman of the Board of Perupetro, you will have to correct it.
“For the sake of transparency, we have already sent all the documentation to the Comptroller. I would like to wait for the Comptroller’s Office to pronounce itself and following that make the appropriate decisions. I would like not to advance an opinion. If we have made a mistake, we will have to correct it ”, he indicated.
