The minister also pointed out that errors made by some users persist when registering, which requires correction before beginning the process. For this reason, the technical review schedule is postponed until next October 14.
Rodríguez Dávila thanked those affected for their understanding and assured that they will be contacted to coordinate the new review date. “We apologize for the inconvenience caused,” he concluded.
Technical inspection of Vehicles in Cuba (VAP)
On August 22, the census of Vehicles Assembled by Parts and Pieces (VAP) concluded, reaching a total of 102,500 registrations throughout the country, as reported by the corresponding Ministry.
The provinces of Holguín, Camagüey and Matanzas reported the highest numbers of registered vehicles. Among the registered categories, mopeds stand out with 10,932 registrations, simple motorcycles with 63,346, motorcycles with sidecars with 1,487 and tricycles with 11,578.
These vehicles, which together add up to 87,343, represent 85.2% of the total registrations, according to the information provided by the Minister of Transportation, Eduardo Rodríguez.
Now, on October 14, the technical review will begin in the head municipalities of each province, starting with cars, panels and trucks, which must go to the technical review plants (Somatón).
Then, the inspection of mopeds, motorcycles, tricycles and similar vehicles will proceed until the process is completed in each municipality.
