The company EVA SA in charge of the operation of the regional garbage dump Alicurá will continue with the service until spring for which it will be paid $503 millionregarding $3.3 million per day would be the cost of burying garbage far from the place where it is generated.

Vice Governor Gloria Ruiz in exercise of the Executive Branch signed a decree empowering the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Gustavo Medele, to renew for six months the contract with EVA SA that expired last month. The last contract had been signed on April 30, 2022.

The management of the landfill had been going on since 2018 as a way to respond to the garbage crisis that the towns of Villa La Angostura, San Martín de los Andes and Villa Trafull suffered, almost in unison.

The contract with EVA SA was for 21 months and the option was to extend it for the same period, which did not happen because it was reduced to 6 months, until the public bidding process is defined, which requires considerable time to prepare the requirements. technical, call, reception of proposals, evaluation and award.

Unlike the regional landfill that the city of Neuquén has, the one in Alicurá is managed by the Ministry of the Environment since the cells were closed in 2017 to bury San Martín’s garbage.
