They offer more than 100 thousand dollars for a Venezuelan implicated in the murder of a Paraguayan prosecutor

Authorities believe he may have fled to his home country.

Colombian authorities announced on Wednesday a reward of up to $132,000 for information that would allow them to locate and capture one of those suspected of being involved in the murder of Paraguayan prosecutor Marcelo Pecci.

The fugitive Gabriel Carlos Luis Salinas Mendoza, a Venezuelan national, is accused of transporting on a jet ski the person who shot the Paraguayan prosecutor three times to death on a private beach in the Colombian Caribbean, where he was enjoying his honeymoon with his wife Claudia Aguilera.

Salinas Mendoza is wanted in 194 Interpol member countries by means of a blue circular issued by Colombia, which indicates that he might travel especially to Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru and Panama.

The director of the Colombian police, General Jorge Luis Vargas, assured in the official announcement that they have information that indicates that Salinas Mendoza “fled to Venezuela with some money that would allegedly be the product of the homicide of prosecutor Pecci.”

The criminal operation would have cost more than 528,000 dollars, according to the prosecution.

For the crime of the anti-mafia prosecutor committed on May 10 on the beaches of Barú, in Cartagena, five people have been captured who were charged with the crimes of aggravated homicide and carrying weapons.

After being prosecuted in Cartagena, they arrived in Bogotá on Wednesday, where they will be transferred to the prosecutor’s office bunker and then to a maximum security prison.
