Asunción, IP Agency.- The Secretariat of Consumer and User Defense (Sedeco) signed a cooperation agreement with the Yaguarete Group, through the “Make your paper, recycle” program, which will allow the institution to begin the process of separating papers and cardboard in disuse.
Training and awareness was carried out for officials on the importance of correct waste classification. They will deliver annually an Environmental Impact report generated by recycling at Sedeco, which will detail the CO2 emission savings, water use, physical space in cubic meters in landfills and also the number of trees that avoided being felled.
The Executive Secretary of Sedeco, Sará Irún, stated that for the institution under her charge, a culture of responsible consumption is essential, aimed at empowering consumers to make conscious decisions and promote sustainable practices in their daily lives in line with the Sustainable Development Goal. No. 12 “Sustainable Consumption and Production”.
He also highlighted the importance of replicating this action in other public and private institutions; and of course, it serves as a concrete action in our homes, not only to reduce the amount of waste, but also to conserve natural resources.
In addition to the Executive Secretary of the Consumer, the Sustainability Manager of the Yaguarete Group, Adolfo Benítez, and officials from Sedeco participated in the event.
