“Hay a small number of people allowed to enter the track following the race concludes (…) The spectators (who jumped onto the track early) had broken one of the (security) lines, we still don’t know how it happened,” Westacott told ABC public channel.

The organizers met last night “until the wee hours” with representatives of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), which regulates the World Cup Formula 1 and other competitions, and promised to carry out “a very exhaustive investigation”.

“We have many security cameras and a large amount of material to analyze over the next two weeks (…) Motorsport is dangerous, it might have been horrible” of an accident, remarked the Australian.
