With 72 votes in favor, the Legislative Assembly extended for the second consecutive time, the Special Transitory Law to Combat Inflation in the Prices of Basic Products, extending its validity until March 31, 2026.
The Economy Commission, in charge of studying the opinion, highlighted that the regulations include the elimination of the Tariff Duty on Imports (DAI) on products such as milk, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, green chilies, beans, meat, bananas, rice, flour , oils, vegetables, animal feed, fertilizers, fertilizers, different types of meat, chicken eggs and others.
This measure seeks to mitigate the impact of global inflation on the prices of the basic basket and other products in high demand, thus benefiting Salvadorans, foreseeing the reduction of prices and guaranteeing the accessibility of these products for the population.
