They found an ocelot tied in a sack

After being rescued and examined by the veterinary team, it was discovered that the feline has serious injuries on the pads of all four paws, an open wound, an extracted premolar, severe anemia and dehydration.

The ocelot is an adult male that exhibits inappropriate behaviors due to domestication, which seriously compromises its ability to return to its natural habitat.

Andrés Gómez, supervisor of the Wildlife Care and Rehabilitation Center of the Metropolitan Area, asked respect for animals and called on the community not to take part in illegal wildlife trafficking.

To date, three ocelots have been rescued in the Aburrá Valley. This species is threatened by the loss of habitat, death by hunting for their skin and illegal trade as pets.
