Three bodies were found by police officers in a quarry in the city of Daule, located in the province of Guayas, southwestern Ecuador, according to media reports from that country.

the discovery took place near the urbanizations La Rioja and Villa Italia, where the authorities also They found an abandoned vehicle without a license plate, as well as at least three explosive devices and drone parts.
Also, according to preliminary information from the Police, the three bodies are male and two of them were dismembered.
Ecuavisa reported that the events took place in the early hours of this Friday, May 20, 2022, and versions of inhabitants of the area indicate that around 3:00 am three strong explosions were heard, which caused flames that were captured on video. and photographs.
After 6:00 am, the explosive devices found in the area were detonated in a controlled manner with the presence of agents from the Ecuadorian Police Intervention and Rescue Group.
And after 7:00 am, when the area was already secured, criminalistics personnel were able to enter to remove the three bodies.
As reported by the Ecuadorian Prosecutor’s Office, these three people would have tried to bring the explosives into the Litoral Penitentiary and would have died handling them.
“#FiscalíaEc opened an investigation into the death of 3 people who -apparently- manipulated explosives and tried to enter them into the Litoral Penitentiary, in Guayaquil, using drones”, affirmed the entity through its Twitter account.
The Prosecutor’s Office specified that the event occurred on “a hill in a private urbanization in Daula, one kilometer from the prison.”
