No shoes and no shirt. With several wounds in the back inflicted with a knife. This is how they found the body of James Alberto Arboleda Cardona, a professor at the Tecnológico de Antioquia who had been reported missing last Thursday, October 3 in Robledo (commune 7).
The macabre discovery was made by the Medellín Police hIt was around midnight on the same Thursday when they were warned of a crime in the vicinity of El Volador hill. At first it was not known that it was the ‘teacher’ they were looking for, so they removed the body and it was transferred to Forensic Medicine.
Only until the afternoon of this Friday, October 5, were they able to confirm that it was the teacher. The Secretary of Peace and Human Rights of Medellín, Carlos Arcila, was the one who confirmed the information through his X account.

They highlighted the work of the teacher
Faced with the news, the academic community of the Institución Universitaria Tecnológico de Antioquia was shocked, not only because one of their beloved ‘professors’ had been murdered, but also because of the cruel way in which his life was taken.
In a video published on social networks, the rector of the institution, Leonardo García Botero, rejected and condemned the event that puts the TdeA in mourning. “Today is a day of deep sadness for the TdeA institutional community. We are saddened by the death of our teacher and friend James Alberto Arboleda (…) once again violent events cut short a life in an absurd and unjustified way,” said.
He also highlighted the contribution and contributions of Arboleda Cardona to the institution, both from an academic and human point of view.
“They took from us a happy human being, an upright professional who we will always remember for his teachings and warmth. We will find the strength to continue training people with the ability to face the hopelessness that violence produces,” concluded Rector García.
It is expected that the authorities will advance with the investigations to determine the motives for the teacher’s murder since different motives other than robbery have been discussed on social networks.
