WASHINGTON.- The authorities found this Wednesday the lifeless bodies of two of the six workers who are presumed dead when a bridge collapses Baltimore following the attack of a cargo ship that lost control.
The victims are the Mexican Alejandro Fernandez Fuentes35 years old, and the Guatemalan Dorlián Castillo Cabrera, 26 years old, the Maryland Police announced at a press conference.
The Chief of the State Police, Roland Butler, explained that the bodies were inside a van roja underwater. The relatives of both victims have already received notification of the discovery of the remains.
Both were part of a group of eight construction workers, all Latin Americans, who were filling potholes on the bridge. Francis Scott Key early Tuesday morning when the Dali ship hit the infrastructure.
Notably Two were rescued alivewhile the other six are presumed dead. Alejandro Fernandez Fuentes and Dorlián Castillo Cabrera are the first bodies recovered.
Regarding the nationalities of the six victims, it is known that there are two Mexicans, two Guatemalans, one Honduran and one Salvadoran.
Before the collision, the crew of the container ship issued an emergency warning, which allowed vehicle circulation on the bridge to be cut off and prevent a major tragedy, according to authorities.
