Sebastián Cecchetto (46) accompanied his father-in-law to file a complaint about the disappearance of Valeria González (28) in Batán. That same night he went dancing.
A Volkswagen Amarok truck floating on the waters of the sea in Miramar surprised this Saturday morning personnel from the Patrol Command who were traveling along the coast. It didn’t take long for that find to start to have a story behind it.
Shortly after it was learned that the vehicle belongs to Sebastian Leandro Cecchetto (46)who is wanted by land, air and sea for being the main suspect in the femicide of Valeria Lujan Gonzalez (28)the couple and the mother of their one-year-old son.
The young woman’s father found her dead in the cesspool behind her house, located at 133 and 122 streets, on Provincial Route 88, in the La Perla neighborhood of the town of Batán, where she lived with her son and Cecchetto.
The vehicle was found without occupants in the sea, at the height of the Via Crucis of the Florentino Ameghino nursery. When reviewing the area, the police found the track of the vehicle on the embankment towards a ten meter high drop on the descent of the beach.
A series of maritime and land searches were quickly activated to try to locate Cecchetto on the hypothesis that there may have been a suicide or he may have simulated it by throwing his vehicle into the sea.
The suspect had been intensely searched since early morning, after having escaped from Batán, 17 kilometers from Mar del Plata, after being seen by the victim’s brothers in a bowling alley.
It all started on Friday night, when Valeria’s father called Cecchetto. He was worried because he could not communicate with his daughter, who had not gone to her mother’s birthday party.
The young woman’s partner told her that they did not know anything either. and that she left the house they shared around 8:30.
Then, at 11:30 p.m., Valeria’s father appeared at the 8th Police Station. of Batán to file a complaint to find out the whereabouts and he did it accompanied by his son-in-lawas revealed to 0223 from the Departmental Police Headquarters of Mar del Plata. Cecchetto, consulted by the agents, ratified the complaint for the disappearance.
Shortly after, two of the victim’s brothers saw the man in a Batán nightclub and they would have reproached him for the lack of concern. Her one-year-old son had been left in the care of the grandmother. At the time, there would have been a fight that ended when Cecchetto fled in his truck.
After making the complaint, Valeria’s father went to the couple’s house. He went to the back of the house and approached a cesspool. He moved the cement lid of the septic tank that was shifted out of place and discovered Valeria’s floating body a few meters deep.
With the arrival of the Scientific Police, it was possible to extract the body late in the morning, at the same time that an alert was issued to locate Cecchetto’s truck.
Pending the autopsy, the investigators first noted that there were no stab wounds or firearm injuries, but the body He had blows and signs of hanging.
The suspect has a blacksmith business in Batán and has no known criminal record. There was also no complaint of gender violence, although the victim’s relatives suspected the existence of some type of abuse in the couple.
Through social networks, Valeria’s relatives expressed their pain. “Unfortunately we lost my cousin, in the worst way, in which we would never have imagined, in which I would never want someone to experience it,” Gabriela, the victim’s cousin, posted on Facebook.
And denounced: “She never left: Vale was killed, the father of her baby killed herthe person with whom he had slept hours before, the same person who walked all over Batán without feeling a bit guilty, without caring that he took the life of his son’s mother.”
Since Valeria began her relationship with the suspect, she was isolated from her family and friends. There was no history of complaints of violence or her statements that she was a victim of mistreatment by Cecchetto.
Prosecutor Romina Díaz of UFI No. 6 is in charge of the investigation and ordered different procedures to reconstruct the last hours of the victim. The judicial officer labeled the case as “aggravated homicide” and ordered the autopsy to be carried out this afternoon.
In turn, the vehicle will be rescued by the Miramar firefighters to assess it. Meanwhile, he continues to search for the suspect at sea near his truck and on land.
