Jesús Irausquín, president of Fedecamaras Nueva Esparta, reported this Wednesday that they are evaluating, together with the Panamanian authorities, eliminating the visa for Venezuelans who enter that territory.
In an interview for Fedecamaras RadioIrausquín pointed out that instead of the visa, there is talk of implementing a tourist entry card, which he described as less cumbersome.
“Most of the national and foreign airlines that fly to Venezuela have a connection with Panama, that might also cause an interesting flow of passengers, so that is what was discussed yesterday and I think that is important,” he added. .
He also said that the union will participate in the Tourism Fair of Panama, on behalf of Venezuela, in order to work on strengthening ties between the two countries.
Cuban and Russian tourists
Irausquín also expressed satisfaction with the effort made by the Venezuelan authorities so that Russian tourists are not drastically affected by the suspension of flights with that country, due to the sanctions and the conflict in Ukraine.
“In the early hours of March 8, the last Russian tourists left, since that operation was closed in that sense, because they came through charter flights with Russian registration, and due to the inconveniences that currently exist, that operation has been cancelled”, he pointed.
In addition, he confirmed that they will receive Cuban tourists from the third week of March, which will serve to enhance the two and three-star hotels.
“For March 12 or 14, two flights will start from Havana to Maiquetía, and then they will be transferred to Nueva Esparta,” he said.
