They enable spaces with a view to reintegration in the Itauguá Educational Center

Asuncion, IP Agency.- An artistic expression workshop and a hairdressing room were officially inaugurated at the Itauguá Educational Center (CEI). In addition, a cultural event was held with prizes awarded to the winners of the chess and checkers tournament, as part of the celebrations for Youth Day.

In this context, the Vice Minister of Criminal Policy, Víctor Benítez, expressed his gratitude for the great contribution of the Supreme Court of Justice, accompanying and supporting juvenile offenders so that they can move forward and become good citizens, embarking on a good path.

“A mistake does not mean defeat, you have to know how to get up and move forward,” said Vice Minister Benítez, speaking very closely to the teenagers who from now on have new productive spaces to undertake with their skills and potential, in art and hairdressing.

On this occasion, the ribbon was cut to inaugurate the artistic expression workshop and the hair salon.

During the cultural event, a variety of songs were performed by the “Coro de Adolescentes Internos” (Coro of Adolescents Internos) and awards were given to the winners of the chess and checkers tournaments, trained by instructors from the Paraguayan Chess Federation.

Likewise, soccer balls and volleyballs were distributed in order to continue promoting healthy sports and recreational activities.

As well as two computers with all their accessories and a printer to the La Esperanza Comprehensive Educational Center (CEILE) for ICT education for adolescents, a fundamental tool for their reintegration into the academic-work context.

The Ministry of Justice also provided a batch of books from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts for the CEI, in order to strengthen the reading habit among adolescent offenders.
