The fight once morest unpredictable earthquakes might be easier through this type of signals.

Recently, we have known publication of a study in the journal Science Advancesin which are shown mysterious holes from which smoke emanates and located in the Oregon coast seabed. The discovery might be prelude to an earthquake in the area, with which its discovery might be used to study one of the most destructive natural phenomena on the planet.
Knowing how to act in the event of an earthquake and knowing the areas of Spain where they are most likely to occur might save us from distressing moments. Now the science can have the key to its early detection.
Knowing the signs of earthquakes can be key to detecting them and minimizing their damage
The falla of Cascadialocated in the same area where the smoking holes have been found, which seems to be located under a marine region called ‘Pythia’s Oasis’, is showing a phenomenon rarely seen, but one that might be as useful as it is dangerous. And it is that this fault, which might be responsible for earthquakes of scale 9 or higher and tsunamis with waves of more than 30 meters in height, seems to have createdat least, four vents through which jets of hot fluid are coming out.
Los holesas you can see in the video on these lines, they measure around 5 centimeters in diameter, are 80 kilometers from the coast and it seems that they expel fluids originating at a depth of 4 kilometers, where tectonic plates meet. The researchers suspect that this escape of fluids might influence the interaction between the plates and in consequence, influence earthquakes that may arise in the area. Of course, the matter does not seem to be as simple as detecting the fluid jet and waiting for an earthquake.

looks like it was Brendan Philipa student at the University of Washington, who discovered the holes on a research cruise and it was a professor from the university itself who published the article that we mentioned earlier. In his statements, published in the Live Science medium, Evan Solomon assures what:
They explored in that direction and what they saw were not just methane bubbles, but water coming out of the seabed, like a fire hose. That is something that I have never seen and as far as I understand, that no one had observed before.
One of the theories handled by the team of researchers is that the fluids might be slowing down the occurrence of earthquakes in the area, because they would cause slow movements in the tectonic plates. Still, according to Demian Saffer, director of the Institute for Geophysics at the University of Texas, not much is known yet regarding this kind of fluidswith what is very too soon to know its effect in events as unexpected as earthquakes.
