JERUSALEM (EFE).— The authorities of the Gaza Strip yesterday discovered a new mass grave in the courtyard of a hospital in Khan Yunis (south), from where they recovered 60 bodies.
Since last Friday, a total of 210 bodies have been found at the Naser hospital, while some 2,000 are still missing in the area, said a spokesman for the enclave’s civil defense team, independent of Hamas.
The Israeli Army withdrew from Khan Yunis during the early hours of April 7, following four months of fighting and bombing, also once morest the civilian population.
Mahmud Basal, spokesman for the civil defense agency, said some of the victims had been tortured. “Some bodies were naked, which certainly indicates that they suffered torture and abuse,” he said.
Several of the bodies wrapped in white shrouds were later collected by relatives, said an AFP photographer, who reported that civil defense workers were seen exhuming bodies in the courtyard on Sunday.
The Israeli attacks in recent hours have caused 48 deaths and 79 injuries in the Gaza Strip, according to data provided by the Gaza Ministry of Health.
Thus, on the 198th day of the offensive, the death toll has now risen to 34,097 and the wounded to 76,980, since last October 7.
Gazan authorities estimate that at least 8,000 people remain under the rubble due to the difficulties of rescue teams in locating them and the incessant Israeli attacks.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reported yesterday that in the coming days his country will increase “political and military pressure on Hamas” to achieve the release of the 133 Israeli hostages who still remain in the Gaza Strip.
“Instead of abandoning its extremist positions, Hamas benefits from our divisions and is emboldened by the pressures directed once morest the Israeli Government,” the president said in a message on the occasion of the celebration of the Passover holiday.
“Therefore, we will give him painful blows and it will happen soon,” he said.
