On August 28, the Command with Venezuela reported that unidentified individuals had arrested the leader Biagio Pilieri after his participation in the rally called by the opposition leader María Corina Machado on Francisco de Miranda Avenue, in Caracas, one month after the presidential elections.
In a post on social media X, the coalition stated that the opposition leader was last seen at the El Helicoide headquarters.
“The last location of Biagio Pilieri confirms his kidnapping and transfer to the Helicoide. He was with his son Jesús Pilieri,” the coalition added.

The political organization had previously reported that both Pilieri and the leader Juan Pablo Guanipa were being followed by unidentified individuals when they left the demonstration.
“Unidentified individuals are trying to grab them. Two trucks and three motorcycles are trying to crash into them in order to kidnap them,” the opposition said.
In a video published by the Command with Venezuela, one of the vans that was chasing Pilieri can be seen.
“I hold Nicolás Maduro responsible, I hold the Minister of Interior and Justice responsible, the Attorney General of the Republic, and all the State security forces responsible,” Piliari said in a video call with leaders of the political organization.
As for Guanipa, it was learned that the leader managed to escape and is currently being protected.
“Let us all denounce the kidnapping of Biagio and Jesús Pirieli, who are currently in El Helicoide, the largest torture center in America,” Guanipa wrote in X.
Arrests in the last hours
On Tuesday, August 27, María Corina Machado denounced the arrest of Perkins Rocha, her lawyer and the legal representative of Comando con Venezuela before the National Electoral Council (CNE).
Machado blamed the government of Nicolás Maduro and described the arrest of his legal adviser as a “kidnapping.”
On the other hand, Democratic Action denounced the arrest of Félix Arroyo, third vice president of that party.
Arroyo was approached by three armed men, who put him in a vehicle without license plates, in the Paseo de Las Mercedes shopping center, Baruta municipality (Miranda).
The rally after a month of the presidential elections
Dozens of people gathered on August 28 in various parts of the country, in response to the call of opposition leader María Corina Machado, as a show of support for Edmundo González.
The rally, under the slogan “A report kills a sentence”, It began at 11:00 am in the interior of the country, while in Caracas people began to gather at 10:50 am.
The attendees arrived with flags and signs rejecting the results of the presidential elections, given by the National Electoral Council (CNE), which declared Nicolás Maduro the winner without the minutes having been published, and which were later ratified by the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ).
María Corina Machado arrived at the rally to express that they will continue to fight for recognition of Edmundo González’s victory and respect for popular sovereignty.
“Here we are standing, each one of you speaking today for thousands of persecuted Venezuelans who will be free, because this is unstoppable. No democratic government has recognized the victory of Nicolás Maduro,” said Machado.
