The website of the Presidency of Cuba has warned in recent hours regarding the presence of a false page attributed to Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.
“We warn that this information and that profile on Facebook are completely false,” they denounced on the social network X, formerly Twitter.
The shared image contained a message from the fake profile regarding the fuel situation and the blackouts in Cuba.
“My friends, good day to all. I want to inform you that we are at 2% of the fuel reserve. I regret to inform you that starting March 15 we will have national disruptions of more than 15 hours. I hope you understand that this is part of the resistance with creativity and that together we will get ahead,” it can be read.
The presidency’s account has clarified what the profile of the Cuban ruler is on that social network.
For his part, the general director of Latin America and the Caribbean of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eugenio Martínez Enríquez, assured in X that this is part of an “organized and deliberate lie to deceive and harm Cuba.”

FUEL AND BLACKOUTS IN CUBA
Although the profile and message are false, Cubans do experience blackouts of 15 hours a day and in some territories that figure is exceeded, such as in Esmeralda, province of Camagüey.
Several electricity companies have announced only two and three hours of electricity a day, while in Havana four blocks continue to rotate, with impacts of only four hours during daylight hours.
On the subject, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Vicente de la O Levy, assured on the same social network that “the fuel situation in the future will be better. “We are going to continue facing difficulties that we will gradually resolve.” However, he did not advance any date for the supposed improvement.
“The maintenance of the Guiteras guarantees better conditions for the summer,” he stated, returning to the usual promises regarding the hottest time of the year.
Just two weeks ago, the Cuban Electrical Union (UNE) assured that no major effects were expected on the electrical service with the thermoelectric outlet Antonio Guiteras. In this sense, it was stated that the behavior in the coming days would be similar to that of previous days with the plant out of service. However, reality has shown the opposite.
