Through a Zoom meeting held this Sunday with the 23 nationals who were already evacuated from Kiev to the city of Ivano-Frankovsk, close to the border of the European countriesThe chancellor Marcelo Ebrard He reiterated the support of the federal administration to meet any need of the total of almost 100 Mexican families registered with the Mexican embassy.

“The president asked me to establish direct communication as much as possible to design what the next few days will be because we are uncertain regarding what may happen. The assignment would be to work for the next few days.”

Meanwhile, Ambassador Gloria Beatriz García Guillén said that they remain attentive to the development of the conflict. She clarified that all the expenses that have been incurred regarding transfer, lodging and food are paid by the embassy itself.

“We are waiting, of course, as the conflict continues to develop at a given moment, to leave them longer or in the time we have scheduled. At the moment, they are fine in the city there (Ivano-Frankovsk) ”, she asserted.

According to data from the diplomatic representation, so far there are 215 people among Mexicans and their families who have consular protection.

In the video exposed by the foreign minister, some Mexicans expressed their gratitude for the support that the embassy has given them in recent weeks.

FOLLOW THE TENSION

Mrs. Aurea Toga Domínguez and her 14-year-old son Yuryi Kartavyy Domínguez are part of the 23 Mexicans who were taken to the city of Ivano-Frankovsk, who remain in a hotel.

“We are hoping that things will improve, my family prays and has faith that things will be resolved for the well-being of all. The important thing is not to lose faith, the hope of it because if we panic we block ourselves”.

Interviewed by telephone by Excelsior, she pointed out that, although they are confident that the situation will not get complicated and she will be able to return to the capital, Kiev, this coming weekend, there is the possibility of staying longer in this border city or returning to Mexico if the conflict gets worse.

“We all think positive and that you can return home on Saturday and otherwise you would see the support of returning to Mexico, we are not alone because the truth is, they are watching us. The ambassador herself, when they transferred us, was marking all the time to know how we were doing and even if we had already eaten”

Aurea Toga Domínguez married a Ukrainian citizen and has lived in that nation for 8 years. She worked in a call center before deciding to protect herself with the support of the embassy in Ivano-Frankovsk.
