Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez today congratulated all the women of his country on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
In his Twitter account, the president highlighted that in the new candidacy for Parliament, 55.3 percent are women.
Among them – he explained – a meteorologist, a scientist, a deputy prime minister, a teacher and a university student, representing so many admirable Cubans.
The National Assembly of People’s Power of the Caribbean nation thanked the women for their dedication, commitment, dedication and daily example.
They also shared a phrase from the country’s National Hero, José Martí: “This Cuban woman, so beautiful, so heroic, so selfless, flower to love, star to look at, armor to resist.”

The Vice President of the Republic, Salvador Valdés, also joined in the congratulations, and stressed that without his sacrifice, tenacity, and courage, the great and beautiful work of the Revolution would have been impossible.
Likewise, the Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales, described Cuban women as tireless fighters for life.
“Their resistance, creativity, nobility and drive in all the tasks of the country make them deserving of the greatest tributes on a daily basis,” he added.

The Minister of Foreign Relations, Bruno Rodríguez, sent on the same social network the warmest congratulations to the tenacious and heroic Cuban women.
He especially congratulated the officials of the Foreign Ministry and the accredited diplomats in Cuba.
