Tarek William Saab, attorney general appointed by Nicolás Maduro, reported that the 12 people arrested allegedly involved in the disappearance and death of the Professor Carlos Lance They were charged in the early hours of this Saturday.
According to the official’s information, the Public Ministry charged them with the crimes of contract killing, association, corruption, concert with a contractor and simulation of a punishable act.
On the other hand, the fourth court with national jurisdiction in matters of terrorism ordered a custodial measure for all those involved. Which means that they will remain imprisoned while the trial once morest the death of Carlos Lanz is carried out.
Likewise, the seizure and insurance of assets, the prohibition of alienating and encumbering, as well as the blocking of financial instruments were ordered.
Among those accused are Maxiorisol Cumare, Lanz’s wife, close friends and members of organized crime groups, according to Saab.
On August 8, 2020, Carlos Rafael Lanz Rodríguez, who was a university professor, disappeared. Recently, it was revealed that Cumare would be the alleged intellectual author of his disappearance and his subsequent murder.
According to Saab, the woman would have asked one of her lovers to murder Lanz and then the body would disappear. For this she hired some assassins.
