Unofficial: Chavista Single Health Authority fell in Guárico for alleged corruption
At least 11 officials from the Guárico state Health Directorate, including the Single Authority, Rayner Rondón, were allegedly arrested for various acts of corruption, according to unofficial information and security minutes released in the last few hours.

Regarding the data collected, those arrested are accused of presumably incurring in the crimes of aggravated corruption; aggravated embezzlement of public funds, aggravated embezzlement of public funds to the degree of complicity; illicit enrichment, embezzlement of use, evasion of bidding procedures, trafficking and trade of strategic resources and aggravated association.
The procedure would be part of the so-called “Iron Hand” operation, where State security forces would act in conjunction with the 53rd National Prosecutor’s Office Against Corruption, following carrying out several audits in the aforementioned body, following receiving complaints regarding irregular events such as the management of parallel payroll, diversion of medical supplies, drug theft, non-compliance with all administrative procedures, among others.
It should be noted that this Friday, February 25, a press conference was called with the Secretary General of the Guariqueño Government, Roger Cordero Lara, as spokesman, who, despite being repeatedly asked by the journalists present regarding the arrests, did not advance further data or offered names, alleging that the Regional Health Directorate is a centralized entity dependent on the Ministry of Health.
“The government expresses its total disposition regarding the investigations that are being carried out and the full accompaniment to all the organizations that have to do with the investigation, so that the final consequences are reached. We are willing to collaborate and give support to the acting bodies. The responsibilities of each official are individual”, he pointed out.
Therefore, pronouncements are expected in the next few hours by the corresponding national authorities in relation to this situation.
