Authorities confirmed they captured a man known with the alias of ‘El Cura’, as allegedly responsible for the macabre murder of Leidy Yohana Escobar Pulido, the 21-year-old girl who was found lifeless and dismembered, on December 17, in the room of a tenancy, in Buenos Aires, commune 9 of Medellín.
According to the Antioquia Police Department report, this man was detained in urban area of Segovia, in the Northeast of Antioquia. So far it is known that he is 36 years old and that his capture occurred in compliance with a court order by the crime of aggravated homicide, issued by the Antioquia Municipal Criminal Court for Guarantee Control.
‘El Cura’, who from the beginning was indicated as a suspect, was left at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office so that they might advance with the prosecution process.

Due to this fact, which shocked and caused indignation, the Metropolitan Police of Valle de Aburrá and the Mayor’s Office of Medellín offered a reward of up to $100 million for anyone who provided information that would allow those responsible to be found, as well as other homicides related to the conflict taking place in the northwest of Medellín with the Los Pesebreros gang.
The crime of this woman was recorded in a tenancy located on Calle 47 with Carrera 36A, in Buenos Aires. The body was found, distributed in several bags, by the landlord of the room, who entered the site following not having seen ‘El Cura’, who had rented the place for four years.
Upon entering the room, he found three black bags containing the victim’s body parts. After alerting the authorities, they found that in one of the bags there were also some documents. Authorities found another bag under the bed, which also contained parts of the young woman.
The neighbors reported that the young woman entered that room days before with the man, but they never saw her leave. After learning of her macabre death, they assured that they had never seen her before.
