Among those captured is who would have shot the prosecutor on a private beach in Barú, near Cartagena, when he was enjoying his honeymoon with his wife, journalist Claudia Aguilera, who was unharmed.
In the first public result of the case, Duque declared that they captured “all those allegedly involved”, although he did not reveal who the intellectual authors would be.
According to preliminary information provided by the agencies, those captured are four people of Colombian nationality and one Venezuelan, who in the next few hours would be charged with the crimes of aggravated homicide and illegal possession of weapons.
One of the detainees is Juan José Valencia, alias ‘Andrea’, accused of leading a gang of drug traffickers and a ‘collection office’ through which the murder of Pecci in Colombia was allegedly forged, apparently on behalf of drug mafias. Paraguay.
Pecci, who was investigating organized crime and drug trafficking networks in his country, was shot dead by people on a jet ski on May 10.

“In the next few hours they will be made available to a guarantee control judge for their respective legalization and the request for an insurance measure,” said Colombian prosecutor Francisco Barbosa.
The hypotheses regarding his death revolve around a possible retaliation of the international terrorism networks that Pecci persecuted.
In his country, he participated in the “A Ultranza PY” investigation once morest drug trafficking from Paraguay to Europe, as well as in investigations into the First Capital Command, created in Brazil and involved in international drug trafficking that has a presence in Paraguay.
“With this important step, this horrendous crime will be clarified and all those who participated in it will get what they deserve,” said Duque.
“In a shared work operation by the Colombian National Police, the Attorney General’s Office and also with the collaboration of the Paraguayan authorities,” said the president.
The president of Paraguay, Mario Abdo Benítez, thanked the Colombian authorities for their effort to find the perpetrators of Pecci’s murder.
